Cherries

In regions of Russia with harsh climatic conditions, it is very difficult to grow heat-loving crops. But selection works wonders: today even in Siberia you can grow plums and cherries. But the magnificent taste that southern cherries have is familiar and loved by everyone from early childhood.

In the wild, the woody plant can be found in southern Russia, the Caucasus and Ukraine. Sweet cherries differ from sour cherries in their flowering period, which lasts all summer. But cherries delight us with large bouquets of white flowers only in the spring. In gardening, there are different varieties of cherries, but the most common are Fatezh, Chermashnaya, Krymskaya, etc.

The place for planting cherries is prepared in the fall. It is better to select a site on the south side and with protection from the cold wind. In the fall, humus mixed with soil is placed in the hole. In the spring, fertilizers are applied and cherry seedlings are planted. During growth, a lot of moisture will be required, but there should not be stagnation of water in the soil. Cherry shoots grow quickly and require pruning before the buds begin to swell.
