Cherry Napoleon pink

Cherries

The pink Napoleon cherry is an extremely old, but not very common variety in domestic garden plots and dachas. The fact is that this cherry is extremely demanding in terms of growing conditions; in particular, it does not tolerate wet and cold soils and needs a lot of heat. That is why this variety does not take root well and produces insufficient yield in regions with insufficient air temperatures and is considered suitable for cultivation in the southern regions. However, this variety of cherries, being overly exposed to weather conditions, is very resistant to fungal diseases, and is also practically not damaged by the main and most dangerous pest of this crop - the cherry fly.

Cherry Napoleon is one of the latest varieties. Its fruit is quite large (the weight of one berry usually reaches ten grams), has a deep pink color with dark subcutaneous dots, is heart-shaped and has a very small seed. The berries have a rich sweet taste and are considered one of the best for preparing a variety of desserts, baked goods, compotes and many other dishes, as well as jam and other preparations for the winter. Also, the undoubted advantages of the Napoleon variety include a fairly high yield, the ability of the berries to tolerate long-term storage and transportation (this is primarily due to the high density of the fruit pulp), and also to remain on the tree for a long time without being subject to rotting and mold.
