Daiber black cherry

The Daibera cherry was accidentally discovered more than 100 years ago in the Crimea, and received its name from the gardener who found it - Daibera. Since then, the tree has become very widespread. The tree has a dense, wide-rounded crown, the shape of the leaves is elongated oval. There are 2-3 flowers in one inflorescence.
Daiber black cherries do not tolerate severe frosts and can freeze in poorly protected locations. This tree is quite heat-loving, and in areas where there is capricious, rainy weather it will not grow and bear fruit.
The berries of this cherry variety are very large, their weight can reach 7 grams, the shape of the fruit is wide-heart-shaped, the top of the berries is blunt, and the color is rich black-burgundy; if you look at the light, you can see subcutaneous pink dots on the berry. The pulp of Daibera is dark red in color, it tastes very delicate, sweet, sugary, slightly sour; the longer the berry ripens, the richer its color becomes and the more delicate its taste.
Daiber black cherries, with proper care and suitable climatic conditions, begin to bear fruit only after 5 years. The flowering period is very beautiful and fascinates any beholder; the berries ripen at the end of June. This variety of cherry grows very well in Crimea, in the place that is the historical homeland of the tree. Trees at the age of 16 years produce a very rich harvest, up to 90 kg of cherries, individual specimens can produce 170 kilograms. The Krasnodar region is also rich in Daibera; here the yield is about 70 kg of cherries per mature tree.
Daibera black is one of the best varieties of dessert cherries; all the fruits on the tree ripen at the same time. But if the crop is not harvested in time, it may be affected by gray rot.
