Cherries is a very popular fruit tree that bears very tasty and healthy fruits. But the joy of eating this berry can be ruined by cherry diseases.

Pests and cherry diseases can cause irreparable damage to the tree, which will lead to minimal fruit ripening. That is why it is necessary to know what problems there may be in order to know exactly how to deal with them.

Often cylindrospora or white rust occurs in cherries. The causative agent of this disease is a fungus that causes trees to completely lose their leaves by mid-July. As a result of this, the trees become very weak, and in colder winters, they fall off.

Cherries can also be affected fungal diseases, namely fruit rot, hole spot. And often there are viral diseases in the form of chlorotic and necrotic ring spots.

Among the pests of cherries is the cherry fly, which is the most dangerous pest for this tree. The larva of this fly can cause worms in the fruits of late cherries. The cherry sawfly is its larva, which looks like a leech. This larva can destroy the green tissue and epidermis of leaves, leaving the lower epidermis as well as vascular tissues.

Cherry weevils, stone wasps, black cherry leaf aphids and other pests can also cause great harm.

To combat diseases and pests, it is necessary to burn the collected dry fallen leaves. Dry and diseased branches must be pruned, and mummified fruits and caterpillar nests must be collected and destroyed.

In winter, you can spray with a 1% dinozol solution. Or spraying is carried out in the spring after the buds swell, using a 2% solution of Bordeaux mixture.
