Hanei strawberry and its features

There are hardly many people who don’t love fragrant and juicy strawberries. It is not only tasty, but also healthy, as it contains carotene, malic and citric acid, calcium, phosphorus, and iron. And certainly we are all trying to grow it on our six hundred square meters with varying degrees of success. In recent years, Hanei strawberries have appeared in our country, a new American variety for us, obtained by crossing the Vibran & Holiday varieties. This is not a remontant strawberry, but an ordinary strawberry that reproduces with tendrils.

The variety has become widely known in European countries and is used for both industrial and amateur cultivation. Hanei strawberries are distinguished by their early ripening, but you should not rush to pick them until they acquire a dark cherry color and strong shine; only by this time will their taste be formed. The berries of this variety are large, weighing up to 50 grams, aromatic, have a regular conical shape, and taste sweet and sour. They are characterized by high transportability and resistance to trade conditions. This variety is also famous for its high yield. The berries ripen quickly and remain large until the end of the harvest.

The Hanei strawberry bush itself is medium-sized and erect, it has few leaves, but it produces a lot of tendrils. The flower stalks of the plant are strong and straight, the stalk comes off easily. Due to the early ripening period, the bushes are practically not damaged by gray rot. This strawberry is generally resistant to diseases, as well as frost-resistant. It is not afraid of rainy weather, but is susceptible to late blight.
