Pepper

Today, a large number of heat-loving garden crops can be grown in open ground. This is exactly what breeders have worked and continue to work on. However, such a finicky crop as pepper should be grown in a greenhouse. Of course, this article will not talk about small indoor varieties that decorate many window sills with small multi-colored fruits.

For planting in an unheated greenhouse, 2.5-3 month old seedlings are used. By this time, the pepper seedlings will have become well established and will have a stem several mm wide at the root, a height of no more than 25 cm, good buds, and 9 leaves. The seeds sprouted in the box must be placed in a well-lit place, but it can be hardened a little beforehand.

It is very important to rid the plant of pests. For this purpose, the soil is watered with a weak solution of potassium permanganate for two weeks. In order for pepper to be planted without harm to the seedlings, it is necessary to fertilize the soil: compost, ash and mineral fertilizers are added to specially prepared holes. Feeding will also be important during the growing season. The pepper fruits will ripen by August.
