Based on the varieties Vostorg and Original, the hereditary winegrower Svetlana Ivanovna Krasokhina, in collaboration with her father and other breeders, developed a hybrid form, which was called Baklanovsky grapes. A synonym for this name is Delight oval. Work on creating the variety was carried out at the Institute of Viticulture named after. N. I. Potapenko.
One of the parent forms is grape Delight gave rise to many different varieties and hybrids of this crop. They all received the best characteristics from him. Baklanovsky belongs to the early ripening varieties of table grapes. It takes approximately three months or 115 days for the berries to fully ripen from the moment the buds open until the ripe clusters are removed.
Delight oval is characterized by bushes of medium height, on which bisexual flowers are present. In southern regions it can grow on its own roots; in areas with cooler climates it grows well in grafts on rootstocks.
When grown on rootstocks, the yield of bushes and the size of berries increases by a third. The desired load per bush is 40 buds. The shoots ripen well. Fruitfulness of shoots - 85%. The clusters are large. Their average weight is 650 grams. If agricultural practices are followed and in favorable conditions, the weight of one bunch of this grape can reach up to 0.9 kg. The bunch of Baklanovsky grapes is moderately dense.
The berries are white-green. The shape is oval, they may have a small pronounced papilla. The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness; it can withstand frosts down to -25 degrees. Quite resistant to all fungal diseases, including:
- mildew

- gray rot
- oidium
The variety is characterized by stable and good yield. About 150 centners can be removed from 1 hectare of area. Also to the advantages varieties applies:
- not affected by wasps
- does not fall off the bushes after ripening
- the taste does not deteriorate due to late harvesting

The disadvantages of the variety include a drop in yield as the bushes mature. Most often this happens due to a large number of leaves blocking sunlight from the ripening berries.
Removing some of the leaves solves the problem. Also, during unfavorable winters in cold regions, up to a third of flower buds may freeze. Many winegrowers grow cormorant grapes because of the excellent taste of the berries.

We have been growing grapes for several years. Of course, I have little experience, so I had no idea that watering more often was simply necessary. I really liked the variety, I will try to find it in order to purchase and plant it in our region.
