How to plant cauliflower?

Cauliflower has good taste and is loved by many gardeners. The methods for planting cauliflower are no different from the methods for planting white cabbage. Most often, seedlings are grown in peat pots or cups. Unfortunately, it grows very poorly in apartments; they are too hot and there is not enough lighting. Seedlings require a temperature of no more than 18 degrees, otherwise they will stretch out greatly. The seedlings are picked at the age of two weeks and planted in a permanent place when a stable above-zero temperature is established.
Many gardeners solve the question of how to plant cauliflower differently. Where the climate allows it, in early April it is planted directly in the ground, under cover. This way it ripens faster and forms larger heads. The plant is very demanding on lighting. temperature and soil fertility. The optimal temperature for growing is 15-18 degrees. At temperatures above 25 degrees, the plant should not only be watered daily, but also irrigated. This cabbage should be well lit, but the heads should be shaded by breaking a large leaf.
The root system of this kaputa is weak; the soil should be loosened after each watering. The plant is responsive to feeding. It should be fed three to four times (40 g of superphosphate, 20 g of urea and 20 g of potassium chloride per bucket of water). The last time fertilizer is applied is when the heads are formed. In the absence of mineral fertilizers, slurry can be used.It is better to choose early varieties and hybrids, at least in the middle zone; others simply do not have time to ripen.

Thanks to the author for useful tips. This year we grew cauliflower at our parents' dacha for the first time; we had planted seedlings before, but there was nothing on it except leaves. And this summer, with heavy watering, we got good flower heads. But after reading the article, I realized that we did not apply enough fertilizer, we will need to take this into account next season.
