Onions love fertile, well-drained soil, so they prepare it in the fall: dig it up and fertilize it. Often, onions are grown from sets - small onions with a diameter of 10-20 cm. It is better to plant the seedlings in warm soil, approximately at the end of April - beginning of May, otherwise the bow will shoot arrows strongly. One of the secrets to a bountiful harvest and long storage is soaking the onions in water for half a day or a day (possibly in a light solution of potassium permanganate), as well as cutting off their upper part, which promotes the simultaneous growth and ripening of the onion.
Plant it in moist soil to such a depth that the bottom of the bulb reaches the moisture. Leave 20-25 cm between the rows, and 5-7 cm between the bulbs. Sprinkle 2 cm of soil on top.
