Every gardener and gardener makes a lot of effort to grow a rich harvest. And many believe that to obtain it, it is not enough to follow the agricultural techniques of growing cucumbers and other plants, but it is also necessary to take into account natural rhythms, the influence of the Moon on plant life, and check the lunar calendar.
Our ancestors noticed many centuries ago that on the days of the full moon and new moon it is better not to plant anything at all, the harvest will be meager or even die. Root crops (carrots, potatoes, etc.) are best planted during the waning moon. Favorable days for planting cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes and other plants whose fruits ripen above the ground occur during the waxing Moon. This is explained by the fact that on the waning Moon the earth accumulates power (from the Sun, air, water), and on the waxing Moon it gives this power, in particular, to root crops.
Moreover, it is not enough to focus only on the waxing or waning of the Moon. It is necessary to take into account what growth phase and what zodiac sign the Moon is in on a given day. For example, it is better to sow cucumbers when the Moon is in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius. Favorable days for planting cucumbers in 2012:

- April 26-28, waxing Moon in the first quarter in Libra;
- May 4, waxing Moon in the third quarter in Taurus;
- May 8-9, waxing Moon in the third quarter in Sagittarius;
- May 11-13, waxing Moon in the third quarter in Aquarius,
- May 14, waxing Moon in the fourth quarter in Pisces;
- May 15-16, waxing Moon in the fourth quarter in Aries.
