Celery
While celery is rarely found in home cooking, in restaurants it is often used to prepare salads, dressings and other dishes. Several types of celery are known in culture: root, petiole and leaf. You will find information on growing each of these species in this section of the site.
Regardless of the type, celery requires a long time to grow. The growing season is at least 6 months, so root celery must be planted as seedlings in early March. Other species can be planted directly into the ground in late April.
Plant care consists of watering (approximately once a week), feeding twice during the growth period and weeding. To prepare a very simple and healthy salad, you can use celery root. The root is grated and mixed with sour cream. In addition, root celery can be left in a pot indoors for the winter and regularly receive fresh herbs for preparing various dishes.
