The viburnum plant is planted in autumn or winter. To do this, you need to dig a hole measuring 50 by 50 cm. In addition to peat, phosphorus and nitrogen are added to the hole. The seedling must be deepened by 3-5 cm. When subordinate forms appear, they help to take root well. There should be a distance of at least 1.5 meters between plants.
It is necessary to feed the plant twice. Once before the beginning of the growing season, and a second time before the beginning of leaf fall. In order for a tree to form, it is necessary to leave one very powerful shoot and remove all the others. They do this for 3 years, then this shoot will become the trunk of a tree.
Very often, viburnum is affected by the leaf beetle, which can eat all the leaves, leaving only the veins. For this disease, it is worth treating with 0.2% chlorophos. Viburnum can also develop a comma-shaped thyroid gland, to combat which a 0.1% solution of karbofos is used. To prevent the plant from developing powdery mildew or spotting, it must be treated with onion, garlic or tobacco infusion during the season.
