Tarragon in the photo

Tarragon or tarragon is one of the most useful and aromatic seasonings native to Eastern Siberia and Mongolia. In Central and Southern Europe, and also in North and Western America, it grows uncultivated.
This herbaceous plant grows as a bush up to one and a half meters high. On numerous straight stems of tarragon there are narrow, long green leaves. As a rule, flowering is observed in the second half of summer. Small yellow flowers are collected in a narrow panicle. The tarragon in the photo resembles an ordinary tall weed.
However, despite its appearance, this plant is very useful due to the large amount of essential oils and vitamins contained in the young shoots and leaves of tarragon.
Tarragon is usually used as a seasoning for vegetable salads and other dishes. Tarragon is often added to marinades and brines when pickling tomatoes and cucumbers.
Tarragon is considered a perennial plant because it can grow in one place for 8 to 15 years. When using tarragon as a vegetable plant, you should change the growing location every four years.
It is best to plant the plant in soil with a moderate amount of organic fertilizer. It is not recommended to place tarragon in damp and low areas.
Tarragon is one of the plants that can withstand severe winter frosts down to -30°. Typically, tarragon begins to regrow as soon as the top layer of soil thaws. And already at the end of April - beginning of May you can try fresh spicy shoots.
If you have a desire to grow this unpretentious plant on your plot, then first take a look at the tarragon in the photos of various gardening publications to have an idea of the plant that you plan to grow.
