Growing rhubarb is not difficult

Growing rhubarb does not require much effort or knowledge. Rhubarb grows in one place for about 12 years, and all this time it is suitable for consumption. Rhubarb is not afraid of cold weather, even frost. The plant is very demanding in terms of light, soil and moisture.
Rhubarb is also loved because it is one of the earliest spring plants. Already from the beginning of May, its petioles can be eaten. The fruiting period of rhubarb depends on the degree of lightening it receives. If the plant grows in a shady garden, then you should expect it to ripen later than on the sunny side.
Rhubarb contains citric and malic acids, which gives it a sour taste. But this plant is also very healthy, rich in vitamins C, B, and mineral salts (potassium, phosphorus, magnesium).
Rhubarb produces a fairly high yield (especially considering that it requires virtually no care) - about 2.5 kg per plant. If you want to achieve such a high result, try to grow rhubarb in acid-neutral soil rich in humus. It is advisable to periodically remove weeds from the area and loosen the soil.
Growing rhubarb will not cause you much trouble, and preparing various dishes with it will bring pleasure. Most often, compote and jelly are boiled from the stalk, and the filling is made into pies. Rhubarb is combined with berries, apples, and citrus fruits. I offer a simple recipe for jelly with rhubarb: wash the stalks, cut into small pieces and boil. Strain through a colander and chop the stalks into a paste. Dilute starch in a glass of the resulting compote.Place all ingredients on low heat and bring to a boil.

I remember my grandmother's rhubarb pies. Judging by the article, I should be able to cope with growing this plant. As soon as the planting season begins, I will begin this simple task.
