Summer shower: types and their description

A shower in the country allows you to improve comfortable conditions without high costs. With proper construction, you can use the shower at any time of the year. There are several types of showers, which differ in the complexity of their structure. A simple summer shower is usually located at the back plot. To construct it you will need four wooden, metal or plastic supports. For the side wall, use an opaque film.

The shower tank is made from a bucket, which is installed on a special support. Next, the end of the hose is installed in the water supply, and the other in the tank. Then a watering can is attached, and the tap and pedal are connected with a rope. This is the easiest way to make a summer shower.

You can purchase a ready-made shower. Its cost depends on the quality of the panels, the volume of the cabin, and the presence of additional systems. This shower is easy to disassemble and store in winter. A wooden shower cabin is the most popular design for a summer shower.Using wooden elements, you can create a booth of any shape, following the drawing. It is possible to make a permanent shower structure. Bricks, concrete blocks, gas blocks or stones are used for construction.

Choosing a place for a summer shower

When building a shower in the country, you must be guided by the following principles:

  • Economical
  • Environmental friendliness
  • Practicality
  • Hygiene
  • Aesthetics

The shower must be placed so that the structure does not spoil landscape design. It is important that the shower is used not only in hot weather, but also in any weather. It should be taken into account that the water flow does not harm the environment. It is also necessary to think over the heating and water supply system, the location of the structure, and only then begin building the shower.

The location for installing the structure should be sunny and well heated. If you place the shower stall in the shade, the water will be cold or slightly warm. If the purpose of the shower is rinsing after the pool, then the cabin should be placed near the pool.

Materials and tools for work

Shower in the country

Before making a shower in a country area, you need to prepare tools and materials. To work you will need:

  • Level
  • Corner
  • Roulette
  • Hammer
  • Nails
  • Twine

The materials you should purchase are a tank, a tap, a divider, wooden boards or plastic sheets. To fill the foundation you need sand, cement and concrete. The structure must support the weight of the tank, so the beams should be 100x100 mm. A wooden cabin will last longer if the material is pre-impregnated with water-repellent materials. To sheathe the frame, you can use the following materials: moisture-resistant plywood, slate, lining, fiberboard, siding, etc.

You can buy a water container in a store or use an old tank that is not needed on the farm. It is important to consider size and weight. It must be ensured that the shower tank is evenly distributed on the supporting structure. One family member will need about 40 liters of water; the volume of the tank is selected taking this into account. For final finishing you will need: paint, plaster, hooks for clothes, a small shelf for detergents and a rubber mat for the floor.

Step-by-step instruction

The construction of a shower on a country site consists of several stages. Preparing the base. Depending on the chosen design, site preparation for construction will differ. When constructing a temporary structure, only the top layer of soil (10-15 cm) should be removed, and then leveled and covered with sand.

If you plan to build a major shower, then you need to dig a hole about 30 cm deep. However, it should be remembered that the depth is determined by the material that will be used to lay the foundation. At the site of the future structure, you need to hammer in pegs and stretch the cord around the perimeter. Next, you should prepare a place for the pipes and then pour concrete solution. It is important that the ends of the pipes protrude on the surface by approximately 25-30 cm.

Drain pit design. The drain must be located a few meters from the shower. It is not recommended to make a drain hole under the booth or near the walls. Subsequently, this can lead to destruction of the foundation, as well as the appearance of unwanted odors. The drain should be laid with roofing felt, PVC film or concrete screed, which is subsequently reinforced with mesh.

Cabin design. The optimal size of the structure: length and width are about 89.5 cm, the height to the watering can is about 190 cm, and the average height of the booth is 260 cm. Installation of the frame is carried out as follows:

  1. First the marking is done. To do this, mark a rectangle on the ground. Then install the beams according to the markings, then bolt them together and connect the beams to the walls of the future cabin.
  2. At the next stage, the walls are erected. Next, install the pipes. The pipe for the hose should be located above the head.
  3. At the final stage, install the tank. The finished tanks have a built-in valve system. If you make the tank yourself, then make a threaded outlet and install a faucet with a connected hose. In this case, the water level should be monitored. When the tank overfills, water will flow from the hose. In this case, the water must be turned off.

If desired, the walls can be plastered or sheathed with siding. You should choose moisture-resistant materials. To maintain a consistent style across registration country house or dacha, it is recommended to sheathe the structure of a summer shower with the same materials that were used in the construction of adjacent buildings.

No special skills are required to build a shower in the country. If the shower will be used only in the summer to wash, then it is enough to make a simple design. If you plan to visit the shower stall in winter, then it is already necessary to build a permanent structure where you will need to buy a heating system.
