Growth factors
With the onset of spring, every gardener thinks about planting crops. He tries to choose seeds of those products whose price is not high and those that can bring a rich harvest. The huge variety of varieties sometimes confuses even an experienced gardener.
That’s right, since the growth of products is influenced by a huge number of factors:
Characteristics of the variety
Connie cucumbers are considered one of the best varieties of the f1 group. Most people assume that seeds belonging to this group are genetically modified (GMO), and they are avoided. And this is an erroneous opinion, since the product of this category is a heterotic hybrid.
A hybrid of group f1 is obtained by crossing two varieties with different dominant traits. For example, they take seeds of one variety with high yield, and the other is early ripening. When crossing two seeds, a variety with both characteristics is obtained (high-yielding and early ripening).
Crossing the hybrid with other varieties is not recommended, since dominant qualities can only be transferred to some seeds.
This hybrid will belong to the F2 group. Kony cucumbers are an excellent hybrid with early ripening. After just 50 days, you can enjoy fresh young cucumbers, which have an amazing taste and aroma, and also do not contain bitterness.
These cucumbers can bear fruit both in open and sheltered areas, as well as under unfavorable conditions. Cucumbers grow up to 10 cm long, are green, cylindrical in shape, and often finely tuberculate. They are great for pickling and canning, or eating fresh.
This type of culture is resistant to various types of diseases, powdery mildew and root rot. From one square meter you can harvest a fairly large harvest of an average of 14 kg. To achieve a rich harvest of conni cucumbers, you need to take the right actions from the very beginning of sowing.
Landing rules
Sowing is carried out after spring frosts have subsided, when the soil reaches a temperature of 14°C. The soil should be enriched with organic matter and loosened. Seeds are sown in moist soil at a depth of 3 cm. You can also plant 23-day-old seedlings, which are planted at the end of May.
Planting should not be very frequent, approximately 2 - 3 per square meter. Mostly planting cucumbers carried out by seedlings. Before planting them, you should first soak the seeds and wait for them to germinate.
You need to soak the seeds correctly, only in this case you can get a good harvest. So how to properly soak seeds? The answer to this question is provided by several different methods that will ultimately allow you to obtain seeds ready for planting:
- Wrap the seeds in linen or hemp cloth, after wetting it, and place it in a plastic bag. The bag should lie in a fairly warm place. In three days the first shoots will appear.
- Wrap the seeds in a damp cloth and place in a glass jar. Cover the container with a lid and in a warm place they will germinate within 2 days.
- The third method is original, not everyone knows, but many use it. Place a soaked cloth with seeds wrapped in it in your bra. Those who use this method talk about the possibility of planting seeds after a few hours.
For soaking seeds For conni cucumbers, you should not use cold water or tap water. The best option is melt water or rain water, and the temperature is not lower than 26 C. Before soaking the seeds, treating with a growth stimulator will not hurt.
Seedlings are grown for no more than 3 weeks, otherwise they will outgrow. When they reach 2 - 3 weeks of age, cucumbers are planted in the garden, where they continue to grow. Connie cucumbers require careful care. Water regularly with warm water and loosen the soil between the ridges.

Since childhood I remember this name for cucumbers - Koni. I still found it funny all the time - horse cucumbers. ;-))) But my mother loved to plant them because of their unpretentiousness and taste. Also, we always made cucumber preparations for the winter.
