Proper planting of cucumbers for seedlings

Before you start planting cucumber seedlings, you need to determine where they will be grown - in a greenhouse or in a garden bed. A lot depends on the correct choice of variety.

In order for planting cucumber seedlings to bring the desired result, it is necessary to take into account factors such as:

  • lighting;
  • temperature;
  • humidity;
  • soil composition.

Proper seed preparation is also important. It includes the following steps:

  1. Sizing - seeds are sorted by size and quality.
  2. Soaking - the seeds are washed for five minutes in a solution of table salt and then in clean water. For better swelling, soak in warm water or a fertilizer solution and stand for about 10-12 hours.
  3. Growing - seeds are sown in pots half filled with soil. The top layer is humus soil. The pot is covered with glass or film and placed in a warm place. After the first shoots appear, the covering is removed and the seedlings are placed in a pre-selected location.

It must be remembered that planting cucumbers as seedlings will determine the final result. Therefore, it is best to use a peat substrate for seedlings. Before planting directly, it is necessary that the soil is warm enough. The recommended seed planting depth should be twice the size of the seeds themselves.
