Strawberry varieties

Strawberry can safely be called one of the most popular berries in the world. Perhaps the majority of the population of our planet loves it, which is why it is grown in almost all suitable corners of the globe. Thanks to the popularity of this berry, over many years of its cultivation, a huge number of different varieties have been bred, differing in appearance, taste and growing conditions.

All strawberry varieties can be divided into selective and local. Breeding varieties are created by specialists and scientists, developed in research institutes and are the fruit of long and painstaking work, which is carried out with the aim of obtaining a new variety that meets certain necessary parameters.

Local varieties are simply selected among the best berries of the harvest, and the result of such selection will be the variety most adapted to the conditions of the area where it was created. Thus, it turns out that the advantage of local varieties will be their maximum adaptability to their soil, and therefore such strawberry varieties in their native area will give the best results with minimal effort put into their cultivation. The disadvantages of local varieties include the fact that strawberries that give excellent results in their area may turn out to be completely unsuitable for growing in another place.

Strawberry varieties are selected for planting based on their characteristics, requirements for growing conditions, as well as ripening time, on the basis of which strawberry varieties can be divided into early, mid-ripening and late.

Julia, perhaps you know...I really liked the strawberries, which are white inside - but taste very sweet and ripe, delicious! I bought it at the market - I fell in love - I want to plant it at the dacha, I can’t find what variety...

How to order seeds?

I really liked the gift, considering that this is an early variety of berries, then to my great surprise they turned out to be quite sweet, and the jam from these makes very tasty. I also liked Honey, also an early variety, but the berries are already larger.

I can’t get enough of the “Tsaritsa” garden strawberry variety. In truth, she is a queen. Large berries, disease resistant. We purchased seedlings of this strawberry variety last year for commercial cultivation. This spring we harvested a decent harvest, sold a little, distributed the rest to numerous relatives, ate ourselves, and preserved delicious jam. If interested, the seedlings were purchased from the “All varieties” online store https://. Well, I highly recommend it, excellent variety!
