Green onions

We often use the phrase “Taste of childhood”, meaning fragrant pies prepared by mother or grandmother. But their filling was so different: cabbage, carrots, potatoes and, of course, egg with green onions. Many people grow onions both at home and in the garden. And it’s not all about the filling for the pies. Onions contain vitamin C, iodine and other beneficial substances that greatly increase their importance during the cold period.

In order to obtain green onions all year round for sale or exclusively for yourself, you can use greenhouses. But here you need to take the choice of variety seriously. Among the perennial varieties, most are frost-resistant, with the exception of batun. It is planted in the greenhouse already in November. But slime onions can be grown in greenhouse conditions all year round. The unpretentious plant produces tender, flat and juicy leaves, which in appearance are very different from the usual onion.
