Green onions on the windowsill and in the garden are a storehouse of vitamins

green onions

Green onions is rightfully considered one of the main garden crops, which can delight us with its benefits all year round. It is so easy to grow it on the windowsill at home and in the garden bed that only the lazy do not grow it.

In order to get a vitamin supplement to your diet, which is especially necessary for everyone at home with the arrival of spring, during the period of vitamin deficiency, you don’t need to do much. Prepare a suitable splinter, a container, say a cup or glass, pour water into it and place the splinter there. place this “composition” on the south window and wait for the green onion feathers to appear, not forgetting to periodically add water to the glass or cup.

Growing onions on feathers in the garden is just as easy. Many, if time permits, grow onions in a greenhouse. There it is sufficiently protected from cold nights and successfully grows into a feather.

By the way, the same kind of garden bed can be built at home on a windowsill or on a glazed balcony. You need to prepare not tall boxes - about 10 centimeters high - and fill them with garden soil. If the soil is brought from the street, then it is necessary to let it warm up well to room temperature. Then water the soil and plant splinters in it, leaving the tops on the surface. In order for the onion to grow onto the feather faster, it is best to cut off the top of the torch with dry husk. In just a few days, green sprouts will appear. When growing onions at home, you should not forget that they need to be watered regularly and sometimes fed. Ripe splinters can be replaced with new ones, continuing to get a harvest of green onions from one box for a whole year.

You can also grow dill, parsley, basil and other herbs on your windowsill at home. In the autumn-spring period, such a home garden will be the best help for replenishing your diet with vitamins.

Good luck!

My mother-in-law takes the place of flowerpots in winter with green onions. We eat salads with green onions all winter long.

As for parsley, it is not so easy to grow it at home, since it stretches a lot. At least it didn't work out for me. But onions in water grow for your dear soul!

I also only had a successful experiment with onions. Although when my grandmother visited in the winter, she managed to grow all the other greens. Maybe experience will come to me with age))))
