Eggplant

Among the vegetable crops grown in the garden, eggplant occupies a worthy place. Its excellent taste is especially appreciated by chefs and is actively used in restaurant cuisine. But you can also prepare many delicious dishes from eggplant at home. That is why all the information necessary for growing this crop is collected in one section.

If in the southern regions of the country the crop can easily grow in open ground, then in Siberian conditions, eggplant cultivation should be carried out in a greenhouse. The plant does not tolerate frost, and the optimal temperature for growth and ripening of fruits is 20-25 C. It is important to fertilize the soil with nitrogen and potassium fertilizers, but the roots of the plant take phosphorus from the ground.

To obtain the fruits, you will need eggplant seedlings, the seeds for which are planted in early March. In about 2 months it will be ready to be transplanted into the greenhouse. To obtain seedlings, it is better to sow seeds in pots, since picking in boxes has a negative effect on the development of the young plant.
