Necessary spring feeding for strawberries

Strawberries in spring

After a long winter, strawberries, like many plants, need care and good feeding. To begin with, after the snow and after the soil has completely dried, the strawberry bushes need to be freed from old and dry leaves, and the soil around each bush must be loosened.

A very important and significant factor for further development and fruiting is spring feeding of strawberries. It must be delivered on time and in the exact quantity.

The very first spring feeding of strawberries is carried out immediately after winter and for this you need to dilute 1 tablespoon of ammonium sulfate in 10 liters of water, and also preferably 2 cups of mullein, which will be in a mushy state. This solution is poured into each bush in a liter jar. Next, just before flowering, the strawberries also need to be fertilized; to do this, you need to dilute approximately 2 tablespoons of nitrophoska in 10 liters of water, as well as 1 teaspoon of potassium sulfate. Pour this solution into a half liter jar for each bush.

And the very last and most important stage in the spring feeding of strawberries is their fertilization after harvesting the whole crop. To do this, take 10 liters of water, add 2 tablespoons of nitrophoska, and also preferably 1 glass of wood ash. Then all this is mixed well and then this solution is poured into each strawberry bush, 1 liter jar for each. This is the final fertilizing that strawberries need to lay the flower buds of the bush for next year's harvest.

Comments

We always feed strawberry bushes in the spring and believe that it is enough to do this in the spring once a year. At the same time, we buy a special fertilizer for strawberries and dilute it in a bucket of water strictly according to the instructions. It is important!
