The wind causes transpiration of leaves, and this has a bad effect on the growth of shoots and the development of berries. So, my friends, we choose a snowy place protected from the wind to plant raspberries.

Soils rich in organic matter promote good growth. Before planting, remove weeds from the area and pay attention to weeds with large roots.

The soil for planting is prepared in advance. In the fall, fertilize with organic matter. Raspberries grow in one place not for a year or two, but for 10 years. Therefore, the soil should be well prepared. For one square meter you will need 10 kg of manure, 10 grams of potassium chloride and 40 grams of double superphosphate.

It is best to plant raspberries in one row in an area with a distance between plants of up to half a meter. Seedlings are planted to a depth of the root collar. Before or after planting, the ground part is cut off, leaving 30 - 40 cm. When watering, it should be taken into account that one bush requires five liters of water.After planting, the soil is mulched with peat or semi-rotted manure with a layer of six centimeters.

Pruning raspberries is not difficult. In the spring, diseased and dry shoots are cut off. For good fruiting, 20 shoots per linear meter of row are enough. If the shoots have been damaged by frost, they must be cut back to new buds. You can trim not only the tops damaged by frost, but also healthy shoots by 15 cm. This will only have a positive effect on the harvest. The berries will be larger.
