When to plant cucumber seedlings?

Any amateur gardener wonders when to plant cucumber seedlings, and how not to miss this time.
Cucumbers are heat-loving plants, so the main criteria when determining when to plant seedlings in the ground are air temperature and soil temperature.
Seedlings can be planted in soil whose temperature is not lower than +15 degrees. However, germination at this temperature will be very slow. During this period, cucumbers grow exclusively in daytime sunlight, and hide at night.
As a rule, greenhouse soil warms up to this temperature closer to mid-May. It is also recommended to speed up the warming of the soil by burying sawdust, rotting hay and manure into the beds to a depth of about 50 centimeters and covering the beds with a dark film.
Growing cucumber seedlings on a window should not last more than three weeks, otherwise you may end up with overgrown seedlings. Before planting seeds for seedlings, it is recommended to keep them in a damp cloth for two to three days until small sprouts appear.
Based on this information, you can calculate when to plant cucumber seedlings. Since it will be possible to plant cucumbers in a greenhouse as early as May 15, the seedlings should be planted around the 20th of April. If you plan to plant seedlings directly in open ground, then you can plant the seeds in early May.

I usually plant cucumbers directly in open ground. I don't have time to play with seedlings. I usually plant seeds in mid-April.Then the rains begin, so they rise quickly. The harvest is excellent.
