And the planting material still needs to be dug in in the fall, and besides, it needs to be shaded so that it does not begin to grow before planting in a permanent place.
Planting currants in the spring should be done as follows: early, as the soil allows, so that the seedlings do not have time to bloom. If you buy planting material, then the rules are the same: as early as possible, it’s just that the sellers must take care of the safety of the planting material. It is better to choose for planting relegated placeswhere moisture is well retained, this plant is moisture-loving. When digging, clear the soil of the rhizomes of perennial weeds, apply manure, superphosphate and potash fertilizers. It is better to dig a hole in the fall so that the soil settles, but if this is not done, then you can dig it before planting; its depth should be about 30 cm, and it is better to pour it on the bottom fertile soil, mixed with fertilizers.
Shorten the above-ground part of the seedling to 15-20 cm, so that after planting 2-3 buds remain on the surface. Better to plant at an angle of about 45 degrees to the earth's surfaceand so that a wide base of the bush is obtained, and additional shoots are formed from the buds remaining underground.Water the seedling well and mulch the soil around it with peat or humus.
