Felt cherry care is easy

Felt cherry is a variety of cherry with bushes up to 2.5 meters high. The quality of the berries of this type of cherry is not inferior to other types, and it is very productive; you can collect up to 12 kg of berries from one bush. By caring for felt cherries according to the rules, you will get a good harvest already in the third year of the bush’s life.

Rules for caring for felt cherries

  • Do not plant felt cherry in the shade. It is a fairly light-loving plant, but can only sometimes tolerate partial shade. But the sun is more preferable for her.
  • This type of cherry does not like high soil moisture. There is no need to place it in places with high groundwater levels; it is advisable to plant bushes on hills and not in lowlands.
  • When planting, keep in mind that it is advisable to have at least two plants for successful pollination, but felt cherry grows well at a density of one plant per 1.5 square meters. You can plant them in rows.
  • When caring for felt cherries, do not forget about loosening, weeding and fertilizing by applying mineral fertilizers.
  • Due to the fact that the felt cherry quickly begins to bear fruit, the gardener needs to form a powerful bush with strong central branches. Don't forget to form a bush!
  • And, of course, do not forget to annually cut out dried and weak branches. The resulting wounds can be traditionally covered with garden varnish.

Comments

And we hardly care for the felt cherry.Only in the spring do we cut out branches that have frozen over the winter, dig around them and apply various minerals and fertilizers just once. This is quite enough.
