Hazelnut

Common hazel grows in the wild, which in culture is called hazelnut, hazel, etc. We all know how tasty and healthy hazelnuts are. A large amount of proteins, fats, as well as vitamins and other substances makes it one of the most valuable components of Lenten cuisine. There are many nuances that a gardener has to deal with when growing this tree. All the nuances are described in this section.

You should pay attention to the fact that hazelnuts are a heat-loving plant and cannot withstand cold climates. To grow it, you need fertile soils, a lot of light and heat. The tree cannot withstand stagnant moisture, clay and poor soils. The acidity of the latter must be at least 5.8 pH.

For propagation, hazelnut seedlings or a part of a bush obtained by division are used. When choosing seedlings, pay attention to its appearance. There should be no visible creases or other defects on the bark, the roots should be well developed and in sufficient quantity, the presence of completely open leaves is undesirable. Remember, getting a good harvest will require proper care, which will not be so simple.
