Hazelnut seedlings

Growing hazelnuts seems like a very difficult task. After all, there is not much information on this topic and very few gardeners are interested in this issue. Hazelnuts have medicinal as well as nutritional properties. Hazelnuts contain 60% oil, these are glycerides of stearic, oleic and palmitic acids. They maintain optimal blood cholesterol levels. Hazelnuts also contain protein, vitamin E, potassium, iron, and cobalt.

Hazelnut seedlings are often used for planting. Hazelnuts love soil that is rich in organic matter, but light in texture. The soil must be air and moisture permeable, since the root system is located superficially, the roots are located in the top layer. To do this, in some cases sand is added.

Hazelnut seedlings obtained by layering most often bloom in the first year. This is the advantage of this method of growing hazelnuts. Using horizontal layering, you can get up to five seedlings from one shoot. Next year in the fall, the cuttings can already be replanted. To do this, they need to be completely dug up, and then cut so that each part has one shoot that has already taken root. The cutting seedlings are then transplanted into a prepared place. Seedlings must be watered periodically, especially during the ripening period of nuts. If there is insufficient moisture and at high temperatures, they can drop their fruits.

The first harvest obtained is measured individually, but every year the quantity of the harvest grows. Growing hazelnuts on your own plot is not so difficult, knowing some of the features of this nut.
