It would seem that what could interfere with the growth of currants, because every year it pleases us with its juicy and very healthy berries, from which we prepare a huge variety of recipes, preserves, jams, and even use them to treat colds.

But red currant pests do not sleep, and very often they can cause irreparable harm to the bushes of this healthy berry, depriving us of a tasty harvest.

One of the most common pests is the bud mite, which brings a very dangerous disease to red currants - blight. In this case, the only way to avoid the spread of terry disease to other bushes is to cut off the diseased bush at the root. As young shoots grow, they must be carefully inspected and treated with acaricides, the most suitable for which is Neoron.

Sometimes you can see peculiar red swellings on the leaves of red currant; over time, the leaves dry out and fall off. This pest is the leaf gall aphid.

Irreparable damage to the bushes is also caused by such pests of red currants as the yellow gooseberry sawfly, which eats currant leaves, currant glass, which eats the stems of the plant from the inside, powdery mildew, septoria, anthracnose and a variety of fungal diseases. In many cases, treatment of red currants is carried out by spraying with pesticides; a more drastic method is to cut off diseased shoots or completely destroy the bushes.

In any case, it is necessary to care for the plants and take measures at the first manifestations of the disease, because later the red currant may no longer be saved.
