Oxalis or "clover of happiness"

This beautiful plant with unusual leaves got its name because of the sour taste of the leaves, which contain oxalic acid. Oxalis is a perennial plant with many species. The leaves can be green, purple, or a combination of both, and the flowers can be yellow, pink, or white. The leaves of this plant close with the onset of dusk, or even just cloudy weather. In many countries, this flower is believed to bring good luck, especially its four-leafed form with green leaves with a purple corner, it is called the “lucky clover” and is traditionally given on New Year's Day with best wishes.
To prevent the interesting color of the leaves from fading, indoor oxalis needs intense but diffused light. In summer, when it is very hot, the plant is shaded, and in winter, on the contrary, it is illuminated. In summer, the plant needs a temperature of 22-25 degrees, abundant watering, and frequent spraying. The plant can be placed on the balcony or in the garden. Don’t forget to feed it with complex fertilizers twice a month. In winter, indoor oxalis needs a period of rest; watering should be reduced and the temperature lowered to 12-18 degrees.
If the plant does not have a pronounced dormant period in winter, it will not die, it will simply not bloom (cacti and other succulents behave in a similar way). This flower is replanted every spring, the soil should be light, a mixture of peat, sand, leaf soil, turf soil, humus, taken in the ratio (2: 1: 1: 1: 1) is recommended. Oxalis is propagated by dividing the bulb and cuttings.
