How to grow onions at home

For all its great usefulness, onions are a very unpretentious plant, so growing them is not particularly difficult. Forcing green onions can be done all year round, in the warm season - on the balcony, in the winter - on the windowsill.
The most convenient way to grow onions at home is to use deep plates. You need to cut a circle out of cardboard according to the size of the plate, make about 20-25 round holes in it, having a diameter of 25 to 30 mm, and dip it in melted paraffin so that it does not disintegrate in water in the future. You can use aluminum to prepare such a mug.
Next, pour raw water into a plate, dilute 1 g of a mixture of salts in it and cover with the prepared circle. Then you need to plant the bulbs on the holes in the mug so that their root part comes into contact with the water (the tops of the bulbs must first be cut off). First, the plate is kept in a dark place (from 3 to 5 days), then placed in the light (for example, on a window).
The feather grows in 3-5 weeks. Caring for such onions is very simple and only involves adding water in a timely manner. To accelerate growth, you can add boric acid and potassium permanganate (per 100 g of water, 0.2 g and 0.1 g, respectively).
You can also grow onions at home in boxes with peat soil.To speed up forcing, 1-2 days before planting, turnip onions are pre-soaked in warm water, and then planted closely in boxes. In the first 10 days it does not need light, but after the onions germinate, the boxes need to be exposed to light and the plants should be watered regularly.
