How to grow nasturtium

Where is the decoration used?

  • for planting in a garden flower garden,
  • on discounts,
  • along the line along the curbs,
  • planting in boxes in apartments - on balconies and windows;
  • climbing varieties are suitable as decorations for fences, gazebos and balconies.

In cultural floriculture, large nasturtium is recommended. This variety includes climbing-climbing types of varieties with stems of 3 m. This flower is light- and heat-loving, so cultivation should be started in open, sun-drenched places. Then the plant will develop normally and produce abundant flowering.

Watering is required infrequently, but plentifully. It should not be overfilled. This directly affects the intensity of flowering.

Soils will require sandy loam or loamy soil. They should be light and rich in nutrients. It is not recommended to fertilize with fresh manure. With excess nitrogen, leaves grow rapidly. But then flowering will also be damaged. Phosphorus is what stimulates flowering.
Flowers are propagated simply by seeds. You can sow not only through seedlings, but also in open ground.
Seedlings are sown during the second half of March, as well as April. Use peat pots, one for each seed. No picking required. In the second half of May, the seeds are sown in open ground.Frosts are very dangerous for nasturtiums. Then nasturtium flowers may not appear.
