Irga

Irga roundifolia is a deciduous shrub with a well-developed root system. Root depth in soil is about 40cm. This plant has high nutritional and decorative value. The height of the bush is no more than three meters. The leaves are ovoid in shape and have a very dense structure.

The flowers are dense inflorescences, with five to seven flowers in each. The petals of the serviceberry are white and about 15mm long. The fruits of the plant are similar to peas. Reproduction

Reproduction of irgi occurs in two ways:

  • Propagation by seeds

Regarding use seeds, then before planting in the ground, they need to be washed well under running water. During the washing process, the pulp is separated from the still unripe seeds, which instantly rise to the surface of the water. Washing should be carried out until only full seeds remain at the bottom of the container with water.

Seeds are planted at the onset of autumn. The soil itself should be slightly moist before planting. The first shoots can already be observed in early spring.When full leaves appear, you need to dive. Reproduction by dividing the bush should be carried out when the plant is young. When cuttings are carried out, the growths selected for propagation should be no more than one year old.

Initially, the cut cuttings are planted in special greenhouses. For active root formation, the soil must have several layers. The bottom of the pot is covered with a layer of pebbles, the thickness of which is about forty centimeters. The next layer should consist of soil and humus (25 cm thick).

The topmost layer consists of sand and its thickness is five centimeters. After landings cuttings, they need to be watered well and covered with plastic wrap. At high humidity in the greenhouse, adventitious roots may form on the cuttings. To speed up the rooting of the cuttings, it can be treated with special means. After just a year, the cuttings can be transplanted into open ground.

Planting and care
