Growing peppermint in the garden and at home

myta

Mint is familiar to each of us. This is a perennial plant with a pleasant fresh unique supply, which is actively used in medicine, cooking and the perfume industry.

Growing peppermint is not difficult; this plant is completely unpretentious and unpretentious.

Selecting a location

The best option is a plot of land on which vegetables were previously grown, for which the land was fertilized with manure. Good lighting and loose and moist soil are also desirable. Mint can be grown in one place for no more than 3 years.

Planting mint

Most often, mint is planted by cuttings, since mint planted by rhizomes is damaged by pests and diseases. Reproduction is also possible using seeds, seedlings, dividing the bush or layering. Mint is planted in late April - early May or in August before winter.

Mint care

Dry soil requires watering and loosening 2-3 times during the summer. Fertilizers it prefers are manure, compost and nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers.

Growing peppermint is also possible at home.

Cuttings with two or three buds or shoots with roots are planted in pots with a diameter of 10-12 cm. First, drainage is placed at the bottom of each pot, and the soil is made from garden soil and humus. For good growth, sunlight, regular watering and periodic spraying of the plant are necessary.

Comments

I used to often grow mint at home. For rapid growth, I fertilized it with mineral fertilizers, which can be bought at any flower shop.
