Zephyranthes robustus and its cultivation

Zephyranthes robustus is a beautiful ornamental indoor plant, often called the "house daffodil". By the way, the packaging with seeds may say “water lily”, although with lilies zephyranthes pink has nothing in common, since it comes from a different family.

Flower Zephyranthes robustus, cultivation which cannot be called complex, requires compliance with the temperature regime. So, during active growth, the air temperature in the room should be 18-25 degrees, and during the rest period - from 10 to 12 degrees.

Growing Zephyranthes

Like many indoor plants, Zephyranthes white and pink needs abundant watering in summer and moderate watering in winter. But it is better to avoid excessively moistening the soil so that the bulbs do not begin to rot. As for air humidity, zephyranthes is absolutely not demanding in this matter.

Zephyranthes robustus, care
which includes annual replanting, prefers low and wide pots. The plant needs to be replanted only during the dormant period. Moreover, when planting bulbs, you need to ensure that their necks are slightly above the soil surface. Be sure to separate the daughter bulbs.

Zephyranthes prefers nutritious, loose soil. The bottom of the pot should have excellent drainage. Do not forget to fertilize the flower with mineral fertilizers every 2-2.5 weeks from spring to autumn. Active feeding stops after the first bud appears, and then resumes after the flowers wither.

As we see, Zephyranthes care relatively simple, but you will enjoy the beauty of this plant!

Until today, I firmly believed that this was a narcissist. I once saw one of these on someone’s windowsill and wondered: “How does it grow like that at home?” Now at least I’ll know the correct name))))

This flower is very similar to my "upstart". The same pink flowers appear almost completely unexpectedly - literally in a few hours. That's why it's called that. True, as for growing, I’m not sure how easy it is. Yes, the care is minimal - watering and fertilizing, but my upstart blooms very, very rarely.

I dream of having yellow and white marshmallows! Pink ones, grandiflora, have been delighting with flowers in late spring since ancient times. Propagation by baby bulbs is easy and quick.
