Growing nemesia

Many gardeners prefer to grow annual plants in their flower beds. Their choice is justified by the fact that such flowers bloom all season until autumn, and next year you can choose something new and interesting to decorate your garden.

One of the favorite annual plants for many flower lovers has become nemesia. The choice of its varieties is very large - about 50! Nemesia belongs to the Norichnikov family, many representatives of which are perennial, but in our gardens nemesia is popular as an annual.

Growing nemesia not a very troublesome task, and it blooms magnificently with bright flowers until the cold weather. Depending on the variety, the plants differ in height: they can be low bushes of 15 cm or tall bushes of 60 cm. The wealth of different colors of these flowers is amazing: blue, white, pink, yellow, red, there are also three- and two-color colors.

When growing nemesia, you should take into account that it needs to be provided with a well-lit place in the garden and plenty of watering. This plant does not tolerate drought in the root area and immediately begins to wither. Particular attention should be paid to this fact on hot days.

Most often, the cultivation of nemesia is carried out by germinating seeds into seedlings. Sowing rules are standard as for many other flowers. If you sow nemesia immediately in open ground, then seedlings will appear later, as will the flowering of plants.

Nemesia is not picky about soil; the main thing for it is good watering. You should also loosen the soil around the plants and remove weeds. To prolong flowering, old dried flowers must be removed from plants in a timely manner.
