How to plant gladioli in the garden

Thinking about it how to plant gladioli correctly, you must first prepare the planting material (bulbs), the soil (dig up or loosen), and then start planting.
Planting the bulbs correctly will make further care easier.
The planting scheme for gladioli bulbs depends on the amount of planting material, its size and the goals that the gardener intends to achieve. The technology for planting gladioli is different, it depends on the method of preparation and the mechanical composition of the soil.
How to plant gladioli correctly
To obtain a high-quality “harvest” of gladiolus flowers, you need to plant large or medium bulbs.
In a bed about a meter wide, grooves are made across (about 10 cm deep). The distance between gladioli in rows is about 30cm.
It is convenient to make grooves with a Fokin flat cutter, or you can use a small hoe or hoe.
Before planting gladioli in dug up soil, the furrows must be well watered (it is not advisable to water the entire ridge). If the soil has only been loosened, watering is not necessary. Less spring moisture is lost; capillary rise of water from the lower layers is sufficient.
The gladioli bulbs do not need to be pressed into the soil, just carefully arrange them in rows with the bottom down, covering them with soil.
The deeper the material is planted, the better the flowers turn out. But on light soil the depth should be no more than 15 cm.
If you plant gladioli shallowly, near the surface of the soil, you will get a lot quality kids, in this case it is better to tie up the flower stalks to prevent lodging from strong winds.
On clay soils, after planting, the rows can be covered with sand; gladioli love this very much.
