Passionflower propagates from seeds and cuttings

passiflora

Passionflower is a fast-growing passion flower plant that does not require careful care and grows well in an indoor environment. The main requirement when growing Passionflower is good lighting, no matter in which side of the apartment it is placed, but the lighting must be sufficient for the plant.

Passionflower propagates from seeds and cuttings.

It is better to cut cuttings from mature shoots in July, cuttings taken from the lignified top are also good for rooting. Each cutting should have a couple of leaves, and the use of phytohormones will help the cuttings take root. Passionflower cuttings are planted in pots with a mixture of sand and peat, carefully squeezed and watered. Rooting occurs in about a month at a temperature of twenty-two degrees, and the pots with cuttings need to be placed in a greenhouse bag. Regularly spray the cuttings with special preparations so that the root system develops well. During the first winter, the cuttings are kept in light and warm, unlike an adult plant.

Passionflower from seeds reproduces under certain actions. Seeds should be sown between February and March; the best option would be to sow freshly harvested seeds, then seedlings are guaranteed and appear within two weeks. There is also a little trick for the seeds to germinate better: rub them lightly on sandpaper and soak in the juice of a citrus fruit for a day, then place the seeds in a loose substrate, placing them shallowly, sprinkle with water from a spray bottle and cover with glass. It is necessary to monitor soil moisture and air humidity, temperature (twenty to twenty-five degrees), ventilate crops, turn the glass, wiping off condensation.

You can grow passionflower, but the indoor flower itself is very capricious, and that’s why I had some problems with it.
