How to care for indoor cyclamen?

Cyclamen, which came to us from distant places North Africa and Asia Minor, is one of the most popular indoor plants. At the same time, this flower is quite whimsical and capricious, so many beginners and not very experienced flower growers who succumbed to temptation and purchased a pot with this beautiful plant in a flower shop very soon have the question of whether how to care for cyclamen.
So, how to care for cyclamen? First you need to choose the most suitable place for the plant in the apartment. Cyclamen feels best in partial shade or even shade (the sun's rays that fall on it should not be direct in any case) at a sufficiently low temperature (the thermometer should not exceed 18 degrees). It is very important to provide the plant with the necessary level of humidity, so it should be sprayed daily or at least several times a week, making sure that water did not fall on the flowers and the sprout zone of the corm. But you should not water the plant too often.
Another important condition for good growth of cyclamen is properly selected soil, which should be saturated with nutrients and well-drained. Best suited for the plant a mixture of loam and humus taken in a 2:1 ratio accordingly, it is advisable to dilute it with a large amount of sand. You can add leaf humus or gravel to excessively viscous soil.We should not forget about feeding cyclamen, as well as protecting it from pests such as spider mite and whitefly.
