Caring for Brugmansia and tips for successful cultivation

Perhaps this is not the first year that you have been looking with envy at a delightfully beautiful plant with huge bright bell-shaped flowers on your neighbor’s property. And you probably even know that this is Brugmansia. But looking at it, it may seem that such a luxurious plant requires a lot of effort in growing and careful care.
I will reassure you: Brugmansia is not such a demanding plant, you just need to know some tricks and tricks in caring for it.
Most often, Brugmansias are grown in large pots or flowerpots. Small-sized pots for Brugmansia are not suitable, since in such a pot the soil dries out very quickly, which immediately causes the leaves of the plant to droop.
Young plants must be replanted every year in the spring, choosing a new pot 2-3 cm larger in diameter than the previous one. It is better to purchase plastic containers rather than clay ones; drainage holes must be made in the bottom.
In the summer, Brugmansia can be planted outdoors, but closer to frost, it will have to be dug up and replanted in a tub or pot and brought indoors, since it does not tolerate frost.
Brugmansia care includes the selection of the optimal place for cultivation. After keeping her indoors, she should be kept in partial shade for 3-4 days so that she gets used to the new conditions. Then you need to choose a very bright place for the plant, protected from the wind in the garden or on the terrace, with the possibility of shading during the hottest time of the day.
Brugmansia loves water very much. In summer it requires daily watering, and on especially hot days, 2 times a day.
For abundant flowering, your Brugmansia care includes regular fertilizing with fertilizers for flowering plants. Add fertilizer to watering water 1-2 times a week from May to August.
