Squash
Speaking about pumpkin and zucchini, one cannot help but talk about such a vegetable as squash. In terms of its taste and medicinal qualities, it can fully compete with pumpkin. That is why this section contains all the information that is absolutely necessary in order to grow this plant in the garden. The interesting shape of the fruit and the bright color, characteristic of some varieties of squash, will become a real decoration of the garden and table.
A good harvest can be obtained throughout the season if the squash seedlings are ready for planting. Shoots will appear faster and the number of fruits will be higher after preliminary activation of the seeds. To do this, they are placed in a gauze bag, which is immersed in a solution of boronic acid for a day. Then the seeds are washed and slightly dried.
Unlike zucchini seeds, which germinate well in open ground, squash seeds or seedlings need to be planted in greenhouses. The growing process is the same as for cucumbers. The area for the greenhouse is prepared in the fall: the ground is dug up with organic fertilizers and, if necessary, liming is carried out, since the crop does not like acidic soils.
