Growing tomatoes

To get a good tomato harvest, you need to spend a lot of time and effort. There are many agricultural techniques that can increase the yield of this vegetable crop. Each gardener uses his own technique in accordance with his knowledge and experience.
Such agrotechnical techniques include pinching tomatoes. However, this method cannot be applied to all types of tomato plants. It is only suitable for ordinary tomatoes that form only one stem.
As this stem grows, young shoots called stepsons are formed in the axils of the leaves. They must be removed in order to speed up the formation and ripening of tomatoes. If you do not plant tomatoes in time, the plant will only grow in height and width, forming many shoots, rather than ovaries and flowers. Then there is no need to wait for the harvest.
It is recommended to plant tomatoes from the very early morning, since it is at this time that they best tolerate this procedure. As a rule, pinching is carried out when the plant has become stronger and the young shoots have reached a length of at least 7 centimeters.
The pinching is carried out without the use of any cutting tools. The stepchildren simply break it off with their hands by moving the shoot to the side. At the same time, you should not cut off the stepson at the very “root”. It is strongly recommended to leave a small column about 2 - 3 centimeters long.
You should not plant tomatoes if they have not completely taken root after transplantation or are not strong enough. In this case, stepsoning will not bring positive results.
Comments
My mother always picked tomatoes. Moreover, this procedure had to be carried out more than once over the summer. It was troublesome, but the harvest was always magnificent.
