Spring strawberry care. Summer berry care

In order for strawberries to be healthy, large and, of course, tasty, the berries must be well cared for. Weed, constantly water (but do not flood), loosen the soil, trim the tendrils, pull out weeds (preferably with roots), harvest in a timely manner, treat if necessary.
Each time of year has its own rules for caring for strawberries. Spring strawberry care is the most labor-intensive, but very necessary; it determines what kind of strawberry harvest you will have.
Spring strawberry care:
- after winter, strawberries weaken, all frozen bushes need to be removed;
- you need to remove blackened and dry strawberry leaves from the garden bed;
- completely remove the strawberry beds from old mulch and any dirt in general;
- loosen the soil between the strawberries and the beds;
- feed the strawberries. For ten liters of water, take half a liter of mullein and thirty grams of ammonium sulfate, mix everything thoroughly. Under each bush you need to pour half a liter of the resulting solution;
- Monitor the soil; when it dries out, water it immediately. It is advisable that watering should be once a week, but abundantly.
Summer strawberry care includes the following steps:
- early in the morning, weekly, you need to water the strawberries with warm water;
- mulch before the formation of the first fruits;
- you can spray strawberries with a special product for the ovary;
- constantly weed the beds;
- when picking berries, it is advisable to do it in the morning and pick them together with the stem and put them in a cold place;
- carefully monitor the bushes to prevent diseases and the proliferation of pests;
- when diseases and pests appear, immediately take appropriate measures;
- fertilize the plant.
Comments
A friend of mine, who has a private house and strawberries close by, covers the rows between the rows with straw - this way the berries are not damaged by gray rot and other diseases, and the moisture from the ground does not evaporate very quickly.
