During the first summer, small onions grow - seedlings. Next spring it can be planted in the soil. The soil must be warm. The dry ends of the seedling are cut off. During the growth period, onion feathers cannot be picked off. It is recommended to plant the seedling not far from the carrots. Depending on the size of the seedling, the size of the grown onion also varies. It is better to choose a seedling up to 3 years old. Weeding and loosening should be carried out periodically. At the beginning of August, the onions ripen.

Seedlings are grown in warm conditions for about 2 months. The temperature should be 18 degrees. The seedlings are not broken through, but only loosened. In early or mid-April it can be transplanted into the soil. By the end of summer, the onions ripen.

I have never tried to plant onions through seedlings, because I think that this is just an unnecessary hassle (at least in the conditions of the Southern Urals). It grows excellently and grows to the desired size if it is simply planted as a seedling in late May - early June.
