Proper care of tomato seedlings

Tomatoes are one of the most popular garden crops among Russian gardeners and gardeners.
Caring for tomato seedlings is not a difficult task, but it requires certain knowledge and time.
First of all, you need to prepare the soil mixture. Now ready-made, processed formulations can be purchased in specialized stores. The soil is poured into containers, slightly compacted. To disinfect, the soil is spilled with a not too concentrated solution of potassium permanganate.
Seeds are planted in rows 1.5 cm deep at a distance of 5 cm from each other. The containers covered with film or glass are placed in a warm place until shoots appear, after which the film is removed and the containers are moved to a bright, cool place. Seedlings are not watered too often, but regularly, usually once a week.
Seedlings are transplanted 3 weeks after germination. Seedlings are planted, deepening to the cotyledon leaves. During this period, it is better to protect the seedlings from direct sunlight. And to prevent diseases, you can spray once a week with milk diluted with water.
2 weeks after transplantation, the seedlings can be fed with special fertilizer or bird droppings. The droppings are diluted in hot water in a ratio of 1:20, the infusion is filtered and the seedlings are fertilized with it after watering.
Two to three weeks before planting, the seedlings begin to harden by exposing them outside for 2 hours every day. The day before planting, the seedlings are hardened off outside for 24 hours.
Proper care of tomato seedlings can be the key to a large, high-quality harvest.
