Leek and its beneficial properties

Leeks or pearl onions are the most common and indispensable vegetable throughout the world. The benefits of leeks have been tested and proven hundreds of times. Therefore, in this article I decided to summarize its beneficial properties.
As a rule, leeks are used in cooking as a seasoning that can give a dish a special taste. In some countries, more than one dish is complete without this seasoning. I can describe this property of onions for a long time, even giving examples of recipes, but I think this is unnecessary. The first property is excellent seasoning.
Onions contain a huge amount of organic sulfur content (that's why it has such a smell!), thanks to which it has the main medicinal property - it fights viruses, even salmonella and E. coli are subject to it. Here are some more reasons to eat leeks:
- it is necessary to remove toxins from the body;
- reduce blood cholesterol levels;
- prevent blood clots;
- for infections, asthma, diabetes, chronic bronchitis.
So, the second property is healing.
Leeks are increasingly used for weight loss. It is included in the diet due to its low calorie content (only 30 kcal per 100g), and at the same time contains a lot of vitamins. This was the third property - dietary, so to speak.
