How to plant tomatoes

Any gardener should know how to plant tomatoes, because in some areas tomatoes are grown this way.
As a tomato grows, it forms many side shoots, that is, stepchildren. They grow from the axils of the leaves, which are located on the main stem. If the stepsons are not removed, they can develop too powerfully, and as a result the plant turns into a multi-stemmed bush that has many flowers. In a toga, the bush will direct its energies to growing greenery, and not to fruits. This will lead to the fact that the fruits will not have time to ripen.
To know how to pick tomatoes, you need to know some subtleties. When planting, it is very important to know the tomato variety. There are several varieties of tomatoes.
Determinate tomatoes are those tomatoes that stop growing on their own; they are often low-growing and have rather weak branches. These tomatoes are usually grown with a single stem. It is impossible to remove all the stepsons of this type of tomato at once, since the tomato will stop growing, and as a result the harvest will be small. Therefore, it is advised to do things differently - it is necessary to leave a shoot from the leaf axil, which is located under one of the uppermost inflorescences. This will promote growth. The next step is to remove this stepson, and leave a new one to replace it. If the summer is hot, then this type of tomato is grown in 2-3 stems.
There is a variety of determinate tomatoes called standard tomatoes, which are usually not used for pinching.
Hybrids, as well as indeterminate varieties, will grow as long as there are conditions for this. In this case, stepchildren will be formed from all the leaves at once, which must be removed all summer.
There are some general rules for stepsoning:
- it is necessary to begin to form a plant when it has already become stronger and has begun to grow intensively;
- the stepsons are broken out when their length is 5-7 cm, this must be done with your hands, but not with a knife, leaving a small stump;
- morning is preferable for stepsoning.
