Formation of cucumbers in a greenhouse

Before growing cucumbers in a greenhouse, you need to carefully select varieties. Because your harvest depends on the variety and how you form cucumbers in the greenhouse. Now there are quite a few varieties that are perfect for growing in greenhouses, and their main feature is that they produce much fewer “extraneous” shoots, which will not only reduce your harvest, but simply confuse the entire area of your greenhouse. There are also different varieties that produce such shoots only after the first-order shoots bear a harvest.
But all the same, no matter what variety you buy, the formation of cucumbers in a greenhouse will still need to be done manually, you can even do it in the usual way: up to the fourth leaf you need to pinch off everything you brought, it’s a pity - it’s not a pity, but it’s necessary, flowers and shoots - shoots; the next tier is above the fourth leaf and up to the eighth and tenth leaves, but here you need to leave a side shoot with a couple of cucumbers and leaves. In general, the higher you go, the more leaves and cucumbers are left.
Also, the formation of cucumbers in a greenhouse grown from special varieties is very different from growing cucumbers from ordinary Russian seeds.Because the old seeds had such a specificity that almost only male flowers grew on the main stem, and on the side shoots there were female ones, but with the advent of special varieties, a lot has changed, because they have a predominance of “female” flowers, and therefore cucumbers have such varieties, it is necessary to pinch the stem for the first time only at the stretched wire of the trellis (approximately 130-150 cm), and then pinch it every 50 cm.
And one more rule, it is advisable to pinch in the first half of the day and, preferably, in sunny weather, so that by the end of the day the “wound” can dry out.

Very informative article - many thanks to the author. I used to always listen to a friend’s advice and pinch it back when the sun goes down. Now I know how to do it right.
