Cosmea terry - growing by seeds and seedlings

Cosmea terry - this is not a separate type of cosmos, it is a variety that differs from ordinary cosmos in that its flowers are double.
We are all accustomed to seeing tall, erect plants with flowers that look like multi-colored daisies in many gardens. This is cosmos. Thanks to the work of breeders, a terry variety has also appeared, the cultivation of which, however, is no different from what is customary to do for the successful growth of ordinary cosmos.
Cosmea is not a complex plant; it is unpretentious to soil, cold- and drought-resistant, but loves to grow in well-lit places.
You can grow these flowers directly by sowing seeds in the ground in late April - early May. It is only necessary to cover the flower beds with a non-woven covering material, for example, agrospan, which is necessary to accelerate seed germination.
You can also grow cosmos for seedlings. To do this, seeds are sown in boxes at the end of March - beginning of April. The seeds of this flower are very small, so do not bury them in the ground, just scatter them over the surface and lightly sprinkle them with soil.
Shoots appear in about 10-15 days. Seedlings can be transplanted into open ground in late May - early June. Flowering can be expected at the end of June. Terry cosmos requires removal of faded flowers from the plant for better flowering. Cosmos flowering continues until frost.
These flowers look very good in the background of flower beds, when planted in groups. They are capable of hiding behind unsightly walls of buildings or fences. These cute, undemanding flowers will decorate any garden.
