Contraindications for white cinquefoil

White cinquefoil is part of the cinquefoil family, of which only one member is considered a recognized medicinal plant - galangal. However, the beneficial and medicinal properties of white cinquefoil have long been studied and are widely used in medicine.

To use white cinquefoil as a medicinal raw material, it is grown in vegetable gardens. It is worth noting the fact that one can expect a therapeutic effect from plants only after 2-3 years of their growth.

Cinquefoil contains a large number of micro- and macroelements that help in the treatment of many diseases. The rhizome contains starches, glycosides, tannins and amino acids, silver, copper, nickel, iodine, zinc, magnesium, iron, lithium and many others.

I will mention the contraindications of white cinquefoil later; its beneficial properties are much greater. White cinquefoil is used for the following diseases:

  • diseases of the thyroid gland (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diffuse and nodular goiter, autoimmune thyroiditis);
  • diseases of the cardiovascular system (atherosclerosis, hypertension);
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver (cholecystitis, hepatitis, enterocolitis and colitis, stomach ulcer);
  • for hemorrhoids, ulcers on the skin, eczema, used externally;
  • removal of radionuclides from the body;
  • for iodine deficiency conditions;
  • recovery after heart attacks and strokes.

Contraindications for white cinquefoil are:

  • severe hypotension, that is, low blood pressure;
  • colitis in combination with constipation;
  • urolithiasis disease;
  • high levels of prothrombin index.
